2013 BIKES : MTB TRAIL : 29" HARDTAIL

RAIJIN (frame only)

OVERVIEW

RAIJIN (frame only)
We've had a long love affair with titanium, one that we've consummated with our new Raijin, our first ever 29-inch-wheel titanium hardtail. With a long history working with this metal, and some serious expertise in designing unique, industry-leading 29-inch-wheel bikes, we're delivering the new Raijin loaded with cool custom features, on a frame designed by Kona, and manufactured in the USA by Lynskey Performance Designs. Named after the Japanese god of lightning and thunder, the Raijin, which is available as a frameset only, sets out to maximize all the inherent virtues of titanium with geometry ideally suited to fast, efficient, simple and ridiculously fun singletrack riding.

"The bike is so stable, very secure and doesn't stumble on obstacles; it's made to go anywhere. Dare we say, a perfect compromise." –Velo Vert Magazine, France

TECHNOLOGY

COMPACT REAR TRIANGLE

Short chainstays and seatstays provide a perfect balance of stability and power transfer when out of the saddle and pedalling hard. Shorter seatstays also have less deflection during braking and accelerate faster than longer stays. The shorter rear triangle also helps the bike to negotiate tight-twisting sections of trail. Our new Entourage short-travel downhill bike is a good example of an incredibly compact rear triangle. Our goal was to create a bike that was easy to jump and trick, and could also corner aggressively. With seatstays measuring just 415mm, we've created one of the most nimble short travel DH bikes in the industry.
